Do you live in Wroclaw and want to get involved in the affairs of your neighborhood ? Do you want to engage in social projects in Wrocław, but you do not know how to do it? Are you looking for tools and inspiration for active activities for a multicultural Wrocław? Or maybe you want to feel responsible for your backyard, street or local park? Take matters into your own hands and join the Multicultural School of Community Leaders!
Regional Center of Support to non-Governmental Initiatives and the Association of Social Diversity UP-DATE in cooperation with the Wroclaw Social Development Center is inviting Polish and foreign residents of Wrocław to participate in the Multicultural School of Community Leaders.
Project is envisioned as an interactive educational cycle preparing participants to take part in the further facilitation of their respective local communities in the activities that would benefit their neighborhoods and backyards. Additionally, cycle aims to involve foreigners living in Wrocław and strengthen their responsibility for the local community in which they reside.
The cycle will consist of the following workshops (each taking 8 hours):
– 31/08/2019: Methods, techniques and tools for involving citizens in social activities
– 21/09/2019: Planning and organizing meetings and fundraising
– 12/10/2019: Local partnership as a tool for intercultural integration
– 07/12/2019: Introduction to useful tools for monitoring and evaluation of activities in local community projects
Additionally, in order to acquire practical skills necessary to animate local communities, participants will be tasked (in Polish-foreigner pairs) with organizing a Multicultural Neighborhood Meeting in the period of September – November 2019.
The Multicultural School of Community Leaders is addressed to both Polish and foreign residents of Wrocław, who feel responsible for the social space in which they live and want to get involved in social activities in their area.
There is no fee for participation in the project. Organizers will provide materials, and a hot meal during workshops. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance. In addition, Polish-foreign pairs participating in the project will benefit from a constant counseling support at every stage of the project.
All workshops will take place on Saturdays and will be conducted using interactive learning methods by experienced trainers in their respective fields.
